Misnformation fuels Covid-19 vaccine conspiracy theories

The conspiracy theories against Covid-19 vaccines are generating all over social media with high levels of uncertainty, thus leave many citizens reluctant on whether to vaccinate or not. This fear bought up by misinformation trending on social media with a belief that these vaccines could kill people or cause harmful side effects, mainly these conspiracies are brought by people who get false information from  those who did not get vaccinated. One wrong word can change many people's thinking about something, hence people like to save their societies, once they see an important or menace information, they typically make an alert and warn others without checking whether the information they are spreading is legit or not, nor doing some research, thus reflect to an effective misinformation. 

All the reluctance that the South African citizens are showing regarding the vaccines, make it harder for the country to achieve herd immunity as it only pose a slow uptake of the vaccine. Many citizens state that they would prefer to see how others respond to the vaccine and how effective is it, and thus when they would take the vaccine too, and this only impact bad to the country as the idea of "waiting for others to respond" is being adopted by everyone now and this slow the government to vaccinate people and chances left are, getting people infected daily. Others assume that the use of hand sanitizing, mask wearing and social distancing are redundant because the vaccine is there, and that is being less motivating while many people does not want to get vaccinated. The vaccine does not permanently kill the virus yes, but it does decrease chances of people to face death illness and infected. The most conspiracy theory found to make citizens hesitant is that " it could make African women sterile and it is believed that it could control the population as Africans have too many children and they bring nothing but poverty  in this world", said Solomon Sadia. These hesitance are standing of African's government to head off successive waves of the virus and economic recovery. People are scared of change, they hence do not want lose their loved ones, once they receive an information regarding the virus or any which seems to be menace, they spray the word without looking where the source comes from, thus increase misinformation, others say "this is a ploy to make money", Yaounde. Rumours linked to the Covid-19 vaccines "spread like wildfire" said Richard Mihigo, he hence said that in some television interview, two French scientists suggested companies trial to start vaccinate in Africa first, because they are igniting a racism row. This only shows a low trust and indicate that people are in fear as none of these scenarios never appealed to be true. By the time when people start to realize that listening to social media rumours is also menace, there will be a lot of cries as they will be left in a shadow of Covid-19 because they don't want to take a lead. 

It is better to act now and save the world by doing only the right thing, vaccinate even though it would not kill the virus, it could at least prevent harmful effects and slow the spread. Protect people around you, and by that you will be protecting yourself too, remember to always do the right thing, hand sanitizing, mask wearing and keep a social distance of 1.5m, by doing that you will be saving the world and getting back to normal life, hence you are an example, do it first for yourself.
